August 10, 2007
I'm off to the dentist shortly. My app't is at 11. Since the dentist's office is quite close to the library, and I have to be to work at 2pm, I'm not going to bother coming home afterwards. I figure I'll get out around noon, so I'll run a couple of errands in the shopping plaza there, including treating myself to lunch!, and then go on to work.
I have a busy weekend planned, too. Patti called the other day and asked if I wanted to go to the Public Market with her tomorrow. I've never been there, (I won't drive there), so I agreed. We're leaving around 8:30 (which probably means 8:45-8:50, cause Patti's perpetually late). It should be interesting. I'm hoping it's like the wonderful market I went to in Paris. I'm hoping to stock up on some fruit and veggies (especially the latter, since I can always cook and freeze them).
I have got to get to Aldis sometime this weekend, too.
Company is coming next weekend, so I have housecleaning and cooking to do, too. Plus the laundry (which I'll do tomorrow after I get back from the market)
Monday morning I'm taking Suzi-Q in for an oil change, state inspection and annual 'well-car' visit. I've had the car for almost a year now, can you believe it?! (it'll be a year on the 15th)
Oh, and the weekend after next is the tea party Patti and I are co-hostessing...so most of the rest of August is taken up with 'busy-ness'. It's all good busy-ness, but I don't enjoy feeling overly busy and rushed. But it will all pass (and then, before you know it, I'll be back to working Sundays again! WAH!)
Still no word from any of the contractors. Brian (the bathroom guy) was supposed to have come last weekend....he never did. He called Sat am said he'd get back to me, and never did. Larry left a msg on my machine saying he'd been out of town at a funeral but hadn't forgotten me. That was on Monday. No further word from him. And Meticulous hasn't emailed me like he said he would, either. I'm beginning to think this kitchen redo isn't meant to be after all. *shrug* My kitchen is functional, if not exactly stylish or up to date, and I can live with it. I'd LIKE to not have to live with it the way it is...I'd LIKE to have it all sparkly and new and look the way I envision it...but what it is, it is. (or isn't, in this case). I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
I'd better get going now, though...so I have some time to play with Panache before I go. Poor girl's going to be alone a little longer than usual today. Btw, her infection seems to be cleared up. She's got a couple more days of antibiotics yet, but she seems back to herself.
