|A Fungus Among Us|
June 14, 2016
Well, not really. More like some kind of allergy or contact dermatitis. My hand(s) will suddenly start itching. I mean REALLY itching....that maddening kind of itch that doesn't stop no matter how much you scratch, until you want to just claw your skin off.
So, I scratch. I can't help it. Then all these little bumps break out wherever I was scratching. Sort of like little blisters. The little bumps burn and sting for awhile (sometimes accompanied by continued itching, sometimes not). Eventually the itching and burning subside. The bumps fade away after a day or so (though I still have some on my palm from two days ago).
This weird rash/itching thing seems to be confined to my hands, but to different places on my hands. Right now, the center of my right palm has broken out. Earlier today it was the sides of my pinkie and ring fingers. Yesterday, it was the side of my left hand.
I've used cortisone cream with minimal relief. Mostly I just scratch till the itching stops. I don't think this is a serious medical issue....more like an annoyance.
Can't imagine what's causing it. I haven't changed soaps, or touched anything unfamiliar. It seems to come and go at random. It doesn't hurt, or seem to be spreading. It's just weird. (and itchy!)
