Well....today marks my first full week as an actual employee of DVC, rather than an intern.
I gotta say...I don't see much of a difference...lol
That's not exactly true...I finally feel like I've got my feet under me up there..at least for the most part. I've gone from feeling like a complete incompetent 400 times a day to just a dozen or so times during my shift...lol
They're sending me into more rooms as the only tech now...which is cool. In the beginning, I was pretty much the grunt...did a lot of kennel cleaning and restraint for the more seasoned techs. Then they started giving me a little more experience by sending me in as the tech with another tech...someone to watch over my shoulder and make sure I don't fuck up too badly. Then it was just me and the client, but only on easy things like vaccines or suture removals.
Now, however, they've got me going into all kinds of appointments as well as doing some discharging of patients too.
I don't mind admitting...I was terribly intimidated. It's hard to remember what to ask each client considering everyone is there for a different reason. I think I'm getting the hang of it all though...or at least if I'm making a total ass of myself, the rest of the employees are being pretty nice about it...lol
All in all, I think it's safe to say that I'm finding my footing to be pretty solid. That, of course, is a good thing.
Love until later,
