Knowing full well that it was more than likely going to rain, I stopped at the carwash on my way home from work. I don't know, just seemed as though the car could use another coat of wax with Winter weather approaching. Besides, what better way to remove bird excrements, from the windshield? There is nothing worse than getting into bumper to bumper traffic with bird droppings masking the view. Although it was no more than an inch in diameter near the center of the windshield, it might as well have been a blanket of it. It was simply too distracting.
Driving off from the carwash with my car boasting a new sparkle, it was clear to see that I could no longer put off grocery shopping. While I was away to Washington, my son and his friends had quite a feast, having used all of my basics. No wonder as it cost a pretty penny to replace! With those monies, another ticket to someplace extravagant may have instead been purchased. It is choices such as this that keeps me grounded, that is for sure!
As had been predicted, Gourmet Chef faced his hip surgery without me. When I last spoke with him, he assured me that all was set up to expedite his recovery. He made no suggestion that I visit him during his time of needs. That alone tells a tale of no return. A man without a cane is simply not the same. My last wish for him is that he may resume his frequent horseback riding excursions. His only drawback was that he may now have to ride with an English saddle. He much prefers riding bareback...
After having showered, prepared and ate dinner, napping, it is about time for me to look up my old ladies shopping cart to tote groceries down the basement steps to the cellar. Once organised upon the shelves of the cellar, I can, once again begin thinking about dinner guests. I am much overdo to have someone calling. |
