| 'Walking Dead' season 4 spoilers: Will Daryl Dixon find love?|
April 10, 2013
It seems that Daryl Dixon is one of the most loved characters on "The Walking Dead." Season 4 spoilers have been hinted at regarding different aspects of the show, but none of them have addressed his love life yet. On April 8, AMC published the second part of a Q&A with Robert Kirkman, who discussed whether Norman Reedus' character would find love in the upcoming season.
Warning: If you do not want to know any of "The Walking Dead" season 4 spoilers, then do not continue reading.
The question of Daryl Dixon's love life came from Johnny Zimmerman, a fan who wrote,
"I find it hard to believe the most bada** dude in the zombie apocalypse is the only guy not getting laid! Will Daryl ever have a love interest?"
This is not an unusual question. While he is a team player now, the writers have managed for him to keep his edginess, something that isn't the easiest thing to do. Not only have the writers succeeded at making his transition a seamless one, but Norman Reedus has done a phenomenal job at playing the part.
Carol and Daryl have some sort of chemistry, but there has been no physical action yet, just some flirting and a few of those looks looks they give each other from time to time.
Robert Kirkman hinted that a romance could happen, but did not mention Carol. He didn't omit her either, so fans are going to stay in the dark about who the woman will be if they decide to give Daryl a girlfriend. He responded,
"Never say never! I think that it could happen eventually. I wouldn't want to spoil anything, but Daryl is a complex character and he's really got a lot of emotional hurdles to get over in his life. It is kind of odd that we haven't seen him in that kind of romantic light, but I think that adds a layer to the character that makes him a little more mysterious and a little cooler. But I wouldn't rule out some kind of love interest for him in the future."
The key phrases here seem to be "never say never" and "in the future." While many fans would like to see it happen in season 4 of "The Walking Dead," it seems that it might not happen until much later.
What do you think about "The Walking Dead" season 4 spoilers you have read so far? Would you like to see Daryl Dixon hook up or do you prefer him the way he is? If Norman Reedus' character does get a love interest, should it be Carol or someone else?
