Great Trip
December 15, 2007

Last week my second grand child was born. Since my son and his family live in another state, we planned to go for a visit after the baby was born. They have a beautiful little girl to go along with their son now.

The trip was fabulous, except for the drive back .... but more on that in a minute.

We spent 3+ days with family, we had Christmas, we celebrated my son's birthday, we shopped, we ate too much, we laughed and we cried when it was time to leave. It was ALL good.

Once when we were shopping, a clerk asked me if I was having a good day (in light of zillions of shoppers) and I told her that EVERY DAY is a wonderful day. At first she thought I was just being facetious or something and questioned me ..... "Why?" ......... I don't get into details, but I looked her in the eyes and said, because today is an extra day that God gave me to spend with my family. With that I smiled, she smiled and I turned and walked away. People don't truly understand. (Every day is an extra day for me. Period!)

The trip back home was horrendous. If you've seen any of the pictures or video of the ice storms in the midwest, or northeast, then you saw what I had to drive through for over 300 miles of the 450 mile trip. It was a white knuckle ride for sure. But, we were cautious and made it without any problems. Yuck!!
