Our internet has been on the fritz and I simply don't have the opportunity to do much at work anymore. We ended up getting a new modem and then had issues getting it set up and working. I finally got the kinks out - and to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how - but it is working better than before. It's a good thing to! We about had an internet junkie breakdown around here. Anyways, I have a little catching up to do.
The face is slowly getting better. Turns out that I have an ear/salivary gland infection - so they have me on antibiotics. I've also been to physical therapy twice. It's sort of a quasi-combination of very minor discomfort and a spa treatment. They apply electric shocks to my face to cause the muscles to twitch. Afterwards, they wrap my head in sort of a heating collar for several minutes followed by a sonogram-like device that uses sound to stimulate blood flow. It ends up being very relaxing and I've nearly dozed off both times. I'm supposed to go back tomorrow for another treatment as well as get my own "shocker" to use at home. I'm supposed to see a neurologist on 9/15 and we'll see where it goes from there.
Work has been nuts. Best things about it recently was my quarterly review (which was very good) and I got another customer service award along with the subsequent $250 bonus. I'm also seeing that I'll have some interesting projects soon - stuff that appeals to my techie side. Plus, one of them will get a ton of mind-numbing administriva off of my desk for good. Huzzah!
