|A wee bit of excitement|
February 18, 2010
I am on a trip with N to see here daughter, who is in Norfolk, VA at a behavioral center. It was a pleasant trip with some wonderful scenery, including the mountains flanking the Shenandoah Valley. The bright sunny, clear day with nary a snowflake in sight made it all that much better.
Things got a bit dicey on I-295 just north of Richmond. A maroon Toyota whipped around us on the left like we were standing still. Seconds later, a state police cruiser came around us on the right as fast if not faster. I happened to be doing 80 mph (130 kmh for our metric using friends) so I would guess they were going at least 120 mph/190 kmh. They rattled our vehicle and were gone swerving like dervishes through the traffic. I saw something happen up ahead then traffic came to a complete stop. A few minutes later as traffic crawled forward, I got to see the following.
That was one unhappy felon. Caught and getting an earful from the officer. It certainly made the trip more interesting!
