|Day 1 of 365|
January 1, 2015
Sort of like this page, the new year is a blank slate before me. I am doing my damnedest to not look back but instead focus on the here and now. So far, it seems to be working and my is still up in spite of a lousy night's sleep. The sleep was partly my fault. I happened to check on my pen order and found out that it had been delivered yesterday. At 2 am, I kitted up and walked down the driveway to get the mail, which was only my package oddly enough. I ended up writing for a letter for an hour plus, and subsequently ended up chatting online with the recipient of the letter. It was all good and helped buoy my state of mind further. Unfortunately, It meant I was in a relatively manic mood and the mind was whirring along although for brighter reasons than of late.
I ended up dragging myself out of bed at about 10.30 am and set about to a few things around the house. Fed the birds, tidied the kitchen some, put a corned beef on to cook, and found myself something to eat before taking my meds. Later, I ended up going to town to buy a few groceries and scored a fresh turkey breast for cheap. Tomorrow, I will be roasting bird. I used the corned beef to grill up a couple of Reuben sandwiches for the Old Man and myself. They proved quite tasty and I may be called upon to make a couple more later this evening.
At the moment, I am using this entry to warm up. I am planning to restart my NaNo this evening, hopefully hitting roughly 2000 words, but before that, I need to write that bloody book review that I have been putting off for almost a month now. It's one of my goals to treat my writing more as a vocation, rather than an avocation, this year. If I take it seriously like a job, I will hopefully start making progress towards actually making that a possibility rather than a complete pipe dream. From there, we can start working towards it being being a reality as I try to spread out my contacts amongst other authors and daresay, publishers.
I haven't really given myself some time to sit and ponder the New Year as well as the Old, but hopefully, I can find some time this weekend. I have more than a few things I want to think about as well as physically touch upon in writing. But now, it is time for work!
