these are slightly out of order because I really began this book prior to book 15, a man called ove. but it doesn't matter, as I will surely finish book 15 long before I finish this one.
this is a journal like work of non-fiction which I will probably read month by month,as that is how it is written. it springs from the desk of a woman in the early 60s who is living with a friend named Jill and her kids in an old farmhouse on some acres in rural Connecticut. so it is all about what the seasons bring and quiet reflections and musings and happenings in this setting.
Gladys is a friend of hal Borland, revealed in September's essay. I recall reading a similar book by hal back when I was in my 20s, probably a "new non-fiction" book then. I loved it, and already, i'm enjoying gladys' book too.
