Merrily i roll along...
The library was nearly deserted today. From 2-4pm i saw a grand total of one child, with her dad. That was it. i half expected to see tumbleweed blow through the stacks!! It was so quiet, i could hear that dopey bird call clock that Annette so "thoughtfully" put up in the Discovery Room from all the way across the children's section!!
That silly clock had been hanging in the back offices, but some of the women didn't like it (especially Lynn, whose cubicle was directly opposite it). So, Annette put it in the Discovery Room, and put our drab but serviceable school clock in the back. i've actually gotten rather used to it. And it's kind of funny to watch people who don't know it's there look around and try to figure out where the sound is coming from.
It was really pretty boring at work today...i spent some time shelving books this afternoon, straightening up the board books, and looking for "dusty books"...books that haven't been checked out in several years. They get deleted, to make room for the newer books.
Annette and i also chatted about holidays. She gave me a great and easy (only 4 ingredients!) recipe for peanut butter balls. She said they taste like Reese's Peanut Butter cups, only more peanut buttery.
Naturally, i had to make some as soon as i came home. (OH NO!! MORE BALLS!!! Seems everything i bake for Christmas requires ball rolling!) They're drying right now. i know they're tasty, cause i had to eat the one that got mooshed in the chocolate...totally by accident, of course!!
Does anyone know how to get chocolate stains out of flannel?? i dragged my sleeve through the melted stuff. i rinsed it out as best i could, but it's still a bit brown.
My pudding pot came today, too! It's bright and shiny, and i can't wait to try it out! (even if it does look a bit like a garbage pail!) i'm anticipating a purely Dickensian moment Christmas Day, when i (successfully!) unmold my Christmas pudding, douse it in brandy, and serve it still flaming!
Only 6 more days!!
