|A Very White Christmas|
December 25, 2002
It was a nice Christmas. A very very White Christmas (despite the weatherforecasters' warnings that we might not have one....we have a foot of snow so far....and more coming down. It's been snowing all day long)
i feel like i spent most of the day cooking and doing dishes....first funnel cakes, then quiche, then dinner...and i still have the pudding steaming on the stove for dessert later on!
Opened presents this morning, of course, and i haven't really spent the entire day in the kitchen....it just feels like i did.
My friend (and former college roomate) phoned just as i was getting the Yorkshire pudding in the oven, she should be calling back soon, so we can have a nice long chat.
Woops...just tried to wipe my glasses clean, and all i succeeded in doing was smearing the grease into a nice fog...sheesh. i blistered my thumb (like i do every year) peeling chestnuts for H.
i'm hoping we'll get to watch "Scrooge" tonight...just isn't Christmas without it. But, if i chat with Lois too long, it'll get too late. Doesn't look like we'll get enough snow to shut things down tomorrow...just enough to make travel horrendous. Oh well, welcome to a Western NY Winter.
i spoke to my parents this afternoon, and H and i watched Holiday on Ice. i also listend to 2 of my new CD's. Barsky enjoyed getting his treats out of his stocking. He used to love to "help" us unwrap our gifts, by tearing open the wrapping paper. But now, he's content to have his biscuit, and then just watch.
Better go check the pudding, make sure the water hasn't boiled away. Hope everyone's Christmas was merry and bright (and if you wanted it....white!)
