Didn't have to work late today. That was good. The Discovery Room was busy today. Even busier than yesterday. i've a feeling it will be even busier tomorrow.
Ran an errand on the way home, and when i got in, there was a phone message from Rick. He phoned back about a half hour later, and we had a lovely chat. It also saved me from having to dust and/or vacuum....chores which desperately need to be done, but which i have no interest in (or energy for).
Spent most of the rest of the afternoon puttering around...caught up on diaries, answered some email, just generally wasted time. Now i've had my dinner, cleaned up the dishes, and am in the mood to write.
Wanted to mention something that i found amusing from the other day. While H and i were driving home from the movies Christmas Eve, a little after 7pm, we couldn't help but notice that most restaurants were closed for the evening. IHOP, the diners, the Italian restaurants...all closed. But not all restaurants were closed...the Korean restaurant, the Japanese and both Chinese restaurants we passed were all open! It reminded us of the end of "A Christmas Story", when the neighborhood dogs have eaten the turkey, and the family ends up at a Chinese restaurant, having Peking Duck for Christmas dinner, with the waiters all singing "Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra". Guess there was a grain of truth in it after all
The package L sent to me still hasn't arrived. Been almost a week. i wonder if it's gotten lost in the mail.
This Christmas, unlike the last few years, i didn't pine for L. i used to spend at least part of every holiday feeling sad, and lonely, and sorry for myself because he and i will never spend a holiday together. i guess after awhile, feeling sorry for myself over that just wore thin. So we won't ever spend a holiday together. Eh. It's not the end of the world, or even the end of the holidays.
And that's all i have to say about that. Or anything else for the moment.
