Channeling Ingmar Bergman
January 6, 2008

Last night's New Year's Party at Karen's was fun. Ellen, Gil, and Sam came in their pajamas. We had dips and party food, and hung out. Sam watched a "Spongebob Squarepants" video. The 3 dogs ended up having to spend the entire party outdoors, as they refused to settled down. Fortunately, the weather was sufficiently cooperative so they could stay out.

I was home by 8:35. Scott asked if I wanted to stay to watch "Underdog", but I really wanted to come home and collapse. Work yesterday had been insanely 5pm, we were still emptying the sweep cart. I came home and lay down for a half hour before I had to get up and make the lust puffs for the party. And believe me, getting up was sooooooo hard...all I wanted to do was stay in bed and go to SLEEP. But we had fun, and I got home early, so it was all good.

Maybe it was too much artichoke dip, but I had the weirdest dream last night. It was a series of vignettes, having to do with tourists in Stockholm. Why Stockholm? I haven't the foggiest idea. It's not a place I think about, or have any strong feelings about. So why I would dream about it, who knows?

In one part of the dream, a middle-aged couple were staying in a bed and breakfast. They had the homeowners' bedroom. The second bedroom got vandalized, and the owners told the couple they would have to move out because they'd need their bedroom back. The tourist husband got upset, and said he'd go find another home to stay in. He ended up getting into a fight with a dwarf and a very tall man. I can't remember what the fight was about, though....maybe his wanting to move into the house they lived in.

In another 'scene', two women tourists were trying to decide whether or not to buy a handbag as a gift. They were trying to convert currency from Krona to US dollars, to figure out if it was worth the money.

There was at least one other part of the dream, but those are the only two I remember. I've had some weird dreams, and this is definitely one of the weirdest!! I really did wake up feeling like I'd been watching a Bergman movie.

I've been pretty busy today, too...though thankfully, I'm about done with busy-ness for the day. Panache got me up at 8. I let her out, stayed up for awhile, then went back to bed for about 45 minutes. Got up at 9:30, cleaned the bathroom, mopped the floor, swept the kitchen (and decided it didn't need mopping after all), pooper scooped, got dressed, put out the trash, went to the bakery thrift store, bought bread. Stopped at Starbuck's and got myself a Cinnamon Dolce Latte (which is sitting on the counter waiting to be reheated). I figured if I had to go out on a Sunday, I could at least make it worth my while!

Then I came home, went out with Panache (who didn't want to play ball cause it's too muddy out), came in, showered and washed my hair, called my parents, played on Webkinz (while I chatted with them), then read diaries.

After I post this, I'll reheat my coffee, toast up a blueberry bagel, and sit and relax! Which, as a matter of fact, I'm going to do right now!!!
