|A Relaxing Weekend|
May 26, 2008
I've had a delightfully uneventful weekend. I worked on Saturday afternoon, and YIPPEEE!!! It was my last Saturday till Sept. I'm supposed to work this coming Saturday, but Ian agreed to work for me, as Mom and Dad are coming up that day. So, I'm off for the summer.
I gassed up the car on the way home from work on Saturday, since I knew I wouldn't be going by BJ's again until next Sunday, and even though I had a half tank, I didn't want to wait that long to fill up. I noticed that both the Citgo and Mobil stations were over $4/gal. BJ's was 'only' $3.94/gal.
Yesterday, Panache and I went over to Karen's for coffee. Then I came home and cleaned the house. My brother is coming tomorrow, and the house needed a good cleaning anyway (Not that my brother would notice whether it were clean or not).
Later, I went back over to Karen's to sample her pistachio pizelle, and her lemon cake. Both were yummy.
Lois called in the evening. We talked for about an hour.
I went to bed around 11 last night, and woke up at 5am with horrible menstrual cramps. Really, really bad. I wanted to take some ibuprofen, but that would have meant having to get vertical, and I wasn't entirely sure I could accomplish it. I also would've had to get something to eat (can't take Advil on an empty stomach. Makes me sick). It was all too much, so I just tried to lie absolutely still and breathe. I turned on the classical music station, and eventually, I went back to sleep.
I slept in this morning till 9. I got the glasses and mugs put away in the kitchen, filled a tall kitchen trash bag with newspaper that had been used to wrap the kitchen stuff in, broke up some of the boxes I've emptied so far, and put the trash out.
I showered and washed my hair, and then decided that I'd better get outside and enjoy the 80° weather while I could, cause it was getting cloudy and windy, and I was sure it was going to rain.
It never did, though, and I spent several hours outside in the lawn chair. I phoned Mom and Dad, phoned Karen, and then read the latest issues of "Pure Inspiration" magazine (which has been sitting on my bookcase since March).
Then I came in, made some dinner, fed Panache, wrote out a birthday card for my godmother, and now I'm going to go play with Panache for a few more minutes, then come in, get ready for bed, watch some TV, and call it a night.
It's been a nice weekend.
