|An Outing For Nougat|
September 3, 2015
Took Nougat for a ride in the car this morning. Stopped at the drugstore and the Asian Market. She was so excited! As soon as she saw me putting on my shoes, she was standing there, nubbly little tail going a mile a minute, fairly quivering with excitement. And when she saw me get the harness and leash.....!!!!! She tries to "help" me put the harness on her....but it's much harder to get it over her head while she's got it in her mouth! But she was a little better this time, and it took less time to get her ready.
She's familiar with where we were going, and she didn't cry or bark when I, and later Mom, got out of the car.
But when we got home, she tried to jump down out of the car before I got her seatbelt unlatched, so she was sort of stuck half-in, half-out of the car. I pushed her back up onto the seat, got her leash over my wrist, and told her to wait, but again, before I could unhook the seatbelt from her harness, she jumped out again, and this time, when she jumped out, before I could wrangle her back, she managed to wriggle right out of the harness!! Thank goodness I had the leash clipped to her collar and not to the harness, or she would've been loose, and who knows where she would've gone!! (Hopefully straight to the front door, but if she realized there was no one at the other end of the leash....who knows?)
So, there I was, with the leash over my arm, the harness stuck through the leash, still buckled to the seatbelt, and Nougat wrapped around my legs. It took a minute to get everything sorted out, and Mom, meanwhile is standing at the front door, asking what's taking so long.
And that's our excitement for the day.
We had a little excitement yesterday. A couple of really big thunderstorms. During one of them, our lights flicked off and then back on. I didn't write an entry yesterday because the storms came through just around the time I was planning to write, and by the time they were done, it was dinner time, and I didn't get on the computer.
The plumber came yesterday and reglued the new shower head to the wall. He came just minutes after we finished dinner (we had Hungry Howie's yesterday. YUM!). I took Nougat outside while he was here, and she and I no sooner got back in the house after he left, than the storms came roaring through. Good timing all around.
Don't have anything planned for the rest of the day....other than a nap perhaps. I MUST remember to give Nougat her Trifexis today....I'm two days late.
Other than that, nothing else is happening really. Which is about par for the course here in RetirementLand.
