I'm all wet. I took a shower a little while ago, dried off, put on clean clothes, and Nougat wanted to go out. I thought she might have to poop, so I went with her. It was sprinkling at first, but then became a heavy shower. So, I made her come back in. She didn't do anything....other than jump at the fence.
Soon she'll be calling me to get her supper. It's just her and me until Brother gets home tonight (around 9:30-10).
I dropped Mom off at Ellie's yesterday afternoon around 3. And as much as I hate to admit it, it was a relief to see her go!
Ellie called her on Sat and asked if she wanted to have a 'pajama party' on Sun. Mom agreed. Ellie's been alone for well over a week. Maria went home a week ago Thurs.....and hasn't been seen since. Ellie's been doing pretty well, but I think she's been doing more than she should, and wearing herself out. Hence, the request for a "pj party"
Mom assumed Theresa would go over yesterday (she usually does the grocery shopping for Ellie on Sunday mornings, and then stays for a while), so Mom planned to go over around 4-5 pm.
Ellie called at 1, to see if Mom was 'just about ready'. Theresa was on her way home, and would pick her up. But Mom wasn't ready yet. So, this sent Mom into hyperdrive.....she got herself all worked up and nervous, which she proceeded to take out on me. She snapped at me over every little thing. Hell, she snapped at me over nothing. She was driving me crazy, and making me a nervous wreck, too.
It was lovely to come back home and be able to breathe! I thought I'd do a good deed, so I did a load of laundry: my sheets from last week, and Brother's that Mom had changed Friday. Hopefully, she'll appreciate it....though it's just as likely she'll be annoyed that I ran the dryer, instead of hanging them outside. At least they're done, and she didn't have to do them. So there.
Brother came home around 7, and we ate dinner and watched TV together.
Mom called around 2 this afternoon to say it didn't look like she'd be coming home today (I was a good girl....and didn't cheer). She said she hadn't brought enough food with her (she thought she'd come home for at least a few hours this afternoon). I offered to come and bring her food, but she declined. Didn't want Ellie to be 'insulted' or soemthing.
So, I've had the house to myself since Brother left for work at 1:30. I've been outside twice with Nougat (both times in the rain); had a shower (both in the house and outside); started watching a series on HBO called "The Leftovers". It's weird, but interesting. I'll try to catch a couple more episodes tonight before "Chasing Life" comes on, and Brother comes home.
And of course, I'll have to feed Nougat and go back outside with her....at least 2-3 more times tonight.
I made Mom some maple walnut ice cream this morning (thought I'd surprise her with it when she came home this afternoon. So, she'll be surprised tomorrow instead)
It hasn't been a very laborious Labor Day. Fine by me.
