|Piddle Twiddle.....Nothing's Ever Solved.....|

Grocery shopping today. Big thrill. Poor Noogie was so despondent when we left without her. Just lay on my bed looking disconsolate. But she perked up when we came home, and ran into the garage and stuck her nose into each and every bag to see what we'd bought.
Came home, put everything away, then helped Mom cook. I prepped the veg for lamb stew and meatloaf. Then groomed Nougat, had some lunch, and finally sat down around 1 pm.
Now I'm on hold with the health insurance co. Yesterday I got a bill for the ambulance. There was no indication as to whether they'd billed my insurance or not....just that I owed a considerable amount of money.
So, I called Blue Cross this afternoon around 3. The young man I got was not much help. He gave me a claim #, but told me the "ambulance co. is not in network". I thought that was preposterous.
I called the ambulance billing (it goes through our county tax collector, oddly). The woman I spoke to there said the "Expenses would be applied to my deductible"
So, I called Blue Cross again. I got the same young man. He put me on hold, and then, I swear, he threw me back into the queue cause he didn't want to bother. I hung up after a few minutes and tried again. This time, I heard a distinct 'click'......I'm sure he hung up on me outright.
I tried AGAIN. Now I've been on the phone with a lovely young woman who's actually trying to straighten things out. She found multiple claims for the ambulance, found it had been submitted as "On the job injury" and therefore denied. But then resubmitted. She did say whatever insurance paid out would go towards my deductible, so I mentioned that I believe I've covered my deductible (heck, you can do that by spending 15 minutes in the hospital!).
She's gone off to call another department to try to find out what's been covered, what's paid, and where I stand. So far, I've been on the phone since 3.....but the first few calls were relatively brief (and useless). I hope she can get to the bottom of this mess.
I've heard a few rumbles of thunder a few minutes ago, but I don't want to hang up the phone, cause I may never get her back again, and she's actually helpful.
I forgot to mention yesterday that I finally heard from Carol on Monday night. She'd been laid up all weekend with a bad back, was in pain, and hadn't felt like talking. I can understand that. So, she wasn't mad at me after all. Guess that's good. (No, it is. I don't like friends to be mad at me)
Not much else to say. Hope I get this health insurance crap straightened out soon. And hope we don't get hit with a bad thunderstorm in the meantime.
