Every summer around my birthday, our fair city puts on "Sidewalk Days" in the greater downtown area. They essentially use barricades to block off 4 city blocks right in the heart of downtown and have all kinds of sales and food and entertainment. It all caps off with a street dance on Friday night where multiple bands play and all the bars are allowed to serve to people wandering the streets.
Normally I try to get down there and wander around scooping up good deals, and this year was just the same.
We managed to get done with surgery relatively early, so Dr. T and I headed down. We stopped and talked to the people from E's work who were out on the street doing physical exams, and checked out some of the goodies in the booths that line both sides of the street.
I bought T a gyro from Uncle Loui's Cafe truck, which is the same cafe E and I eat breakfast from just about once a week. T had never had them...I converted her to a fan.
To return the favor, she bought me mini donuts...mmmmmmm...mini donuts!! Nothing like a bag of sugar, cinnamon and grease.
I didn't really find any good deals in the shopping..at least not anything I couldn't live without...but it's okay. Hanging out and enjoying the sun, watching the freaks and eating yummy food from paper bags makes it all worth it.
Love until later,
