|Unsupervised Day 2|
May 8, 2016
I spent the whole day cruising the alleys in our town with Marly.
It was sort of spur of the moment....she can be odd about things so I wasn't sure if she'd be excited about looking at people's throw away stuff, but she found a couple milk crates right away, so that made her super happy, then she was all about it.
I found a couple goodies...a 3 pane wood window, an old telephone table and a vintage wood first aid cabinet...I'm going to redo all of them, and it doesn't sound like much, but it was a good day of finds.
More importantly, it was a good day of catch up for Marly and I. We've known each other for 40 years...have been actual friends for 30 of them. We've been through jobs, boyfriends, getting fired, school, family drama and so much more...it's almost like we're related, instead of just friends.
Mid afternoon, her sister texted her and just said, "Call mom now", so she did...her mom wouldn't tell her what was going on over the phone, so she dropped me off and went over there. Later, she called me and told me that the reason her mom needed her to come over was because her younger brother, Scott, apparently shot two people in Minneapolis on Friday. One of them died. He says that it was self defense, but he's being arraigned tomorrow and they are currently calling it homicide.
The whole situation reminds me of JP and his murder charge...but at this point, we're just in a holding pattern, waiting to see what will happen at the arraignment.
And of course, I'll be there for her.
Love until later,
