|Worst. Dog. Trainer. Ever.|
August 10, 2017
Everything I've ever read or watched or studied about dog training says that you're supposed to ease a new dog into your home and/or pack.
I have never ever done that.
With all the dogs that we dogsit for, and all the friends dogs and such that cycle in and out of the house makes it almost impossible, so I've always just thrown the new dog into the fray and let them all work it out.
I went to the shelter earlier today and picked up Betsy. She used to belong to my friend Heidi, but since Heidi killed herself last week with an overdose of alcohol and heroin, I've been really bothered about her ending up in the shelter, so I contacted them and I was gifted her.
I likely won't be keeping her. I've actually got a friend who is going to pick her up tomorrow...but I couldn't imagine her going to a strangers house. Somewhere that I couldn't keep track of her. But now I will.
I definitely don't recommend just throwing a bunch of dogs together...but in this case, I'm making an exception.
Love until later,
